  • Posta Uganda launches Triangular Stamps

    The Sikh Community in partnership with Posta Uganda launched postage stamps to commemorate 100 years of the Sikh Temple in Uganda.

     The four postage stamps are uniquely triangular in shape and are a first for Uganda. The stamps bear; The Sikh Emblem (700/=), The Sikh Standard (1100/=), The Golden Temple Amritsar (2700/=) and The Sikh Temple Kampala (3400/=)

    Today is a significant day for the Postal Industry as we celebrate the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) day. Posta Uganda is committed to developing and strengthening our strategic partnerships with key stakeholders that are developing the country. It is therefore fitting that today in partnership with the Sikh community, we are launching the first ever triangular shaped stamps to commemorate 100 years of the Sikh Temple in Uganda,” said the Managing Director Posta Uganda.

    At the same event, the organizer; Justice Anup Singh Choudry also launched his new book – ‘Human Rights of Women in Sikhism’

     Posta Uganda was represented by members of management and staff of Stamps and Philately.
